The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication offers doctoral research program in nearly every sub-domain of media and communication studies including, but not limited to, development communication, new media, health communication, film studies etc., with the purpose to train professionals and knowledge facilitators in the skills and competencies required for methodical investigation of various aspects related to media and communication studies. The Department provides its research scholars with state-of-the-art research facilities to foster the development of well-rounded and knowledgeable personality.

The Ph.D. program in Journalism and Mass Communication focuses on exploring the intersection of media and journalism practices and society at large. Scholars gain a solid foundation through coursework that explores the theories and methods that shape research related to mass communication.
